Re Asda Delivery
Don't forget to make sure a member of the family is in when they come to put it all away for you. The delivery men will deliver to your kitchen floor if you say you are unable to lift (mine do). They bring it right in. Then the family has to put it away - after I've hidden anything I don't want them to see.
Hope everyone continues to improve.
Anne

its a good plan, but i don't think i could be waiting for my flatmae to get home with all the shopping goodies strewn everywhere! I have 69 steps up to my flat, so its well worth it just for the guy to carry the bags up. wish he would carry me too... maybe I'll ask next time!

Laura I am glad that your hip replacement went so well. Without dampening your wonderful spirit, please be careful in what you are doing. I have a friend who also flouted all the rules and felt as if she could conquer the world after a few days. Unfortunately one day after hoovering (when told not to) her hip popped out of its socket and she has had trouble ever since. A futher hip replacement is on the cards. Take it easy and look at the long term picture. Lecture over Jackie xx

Hi Laura, thanks for the crossed fingers, I'VE HAD MY OPP!!! A week yesterday 8am on time, nurse and me going to theater were laughing and joking, i was so happy. Had the spinal too...great stuff, seemed to become aware of surgeon talking to someone and think it was a screen in front of my face which didn't like, next thing i'm back in bed waiting for the rugby. Was on the zimmer then on to my sticks. Progress was fast, no hickups and home Wednesday lunch time. Can't fault the staff for care and attention, they were like friends, felt a bit weepy when i came home, now i'm on a mission to find something to take back as a thankyou for them, a card just isn't enough. If you've any ideas on that one do let me know please. Now i'm settled into my routine at home and planning my return to normal life. Can manage a lot myself, you do when on your own, but making sure everyone who offers can do something. Surprising how much stuff has to go upstairs and come down, that and opening things are a bugbear. Everyday i've walked a little bit further, the nice weather and lovely spring flowers in gardens make it so worth the effort.
Laura your really doing well, i'm so pleased for you, tips are always welcome, was smiling about shaving your legs LOL i made a long version of a razor for my legs. ( this was 10 years ago after my first hip opp ) Used a flat, back scratcher and taped a flat handle razor securly to it, sure you can imagine the sort of thing i'm not very good with descriptions, but it worked!! Anyway time i went for a stroll, take care of yourself Laura and keep up the good work, love Kathleen xxxx

hi Kathleen,
sooo pleased you had your Op and it all went well.
i think being tearful a couple of days are surgery is common,
it sounds like you are doing brilliantly but don't over do it. it's easy to think ohh i can do this and that, your body needs time to recover.
take care,
Suzanne x
